Our History

At the end of 2020, after 17 years of delivering outstanding design results for our clients and improving Australian public services, Justin and Mel decided to cease operations as DMA.

With a special focus on public services, DMA delivered best practice high level strategic design and implementable service specifications and research in most public sector domains.

With work crossing everything from taxation, superannuation, policing, justice, community services, transport and local government; DMA’s work increasingly led in the specialist domains of education, design with young people, and digital and technology delivery.

Mel and Justin continue their design work today. Justin is consulting in the Private Sector, Mel moved back to Wellington, NZ and is a freelance designer and be contacted via this archive.

UPDATE 2022

In 2022, Mel, Justin, and Wendy Cave, Ainslie Principal are participating and leading a Principals Australia Research Fund (PARF) study “Re-defining the Primary School Principal: Applying a Service Lens to Education Leadership”.
This is an examination of the work we did with Wendy: Scaling for Impact, not numbers and how it may be useful across Australia.
